After a period in Berlin I imagined a scene set in the stairways of a house where I lived a couple of weeks.
The central open door with the Elephants is an etching, that I developed and printed on artistic paper at the very beginning of the process. The pachyderms are instead set in a street in Bolzano, the street where I lived for a year after my return from Berlin. That red door represents a sort of passage of time that unites two places between which I was divided and to which I was tied: Berlin and Bolzano in fact.
In a second moment of the process, I mounted the etching on a support (a simple canvas stretched on a wooden frame). After that, I painted with oil colours the whole image around the etching-door and the result is an unedited union of different artistic techniques.
