The Dolomites are a natural heritage of extraordinary beauty. This painting wants to pay tribute to this magic of nature, which has also inspired many legends and stories, from which the suggestive name Rosengarten for these fascinating mountains also originated. We should be grateful for this incredible scenery, which we should not take for granted. Global warming is causing dramatic events in these landscapes, such as the melting of permafrost, which causes subsidence and the breaking off of rock masses from the mountain walls, as well as drought, loss of biodiversity and extreme weather phenomena. To protect the Dolomites and our planet, we must act and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle immediately. Only in this way can future generations enjoy our mountains as we know them.
The gold leaf, as in many of my other paintings, is intended to emphasize the message of how extremely valuable nature and its various ecosystems are. So gold has not only a decorative but also a symbolic value in the composition.
