I was living a period in Berlin when I imagined a scene in the apartment in which I lived: While I sleep, the animals I saw at the zoo come out of my dreams and watch over me. I was back in my private studio in Italy when I realized this work.
The central window with the Berlin view is an etching, that I developed and printed on artistic paper at the very beginning of the process. I colored the etching with watercolours and I mounted it on a support (a simple canvas stretched on a wooden frame). After that I painted with oil colours the whole image around the etching-window and the result is an unedited union of different artistic techniques.
