the scene in this painting is set in one of my favorite streets in my hometown of Bolzano. It’s Dr. Streiter street and definitely shows something strange. Wild animals seem to have appropriated human spaces! The green parakeet is the only species that actually lives and thrives in the city for some years now.
This piece of the Urban Series demonstrates the fusion of human architecture and Wildlife. It is one of my ways to showcase the problem of loss of habitats for the many species in the world, caused by deforestation and human expansion. However, this piece wants to be playful and pay homage to the animals and to my town.
The original oil painting is no longer available, but I am willing to paint similar art pieces on commission. Please send me your request on the Contact page.
