the scene in this painting is set in one street of my hometown of Bolzano. Ferocious wild cats seem to have taken over a home! A tiger comes out of the ground floor door and an even more threatening black panther peeps out the window and seems to want to warn us that the territory belongs to them.
This piece of the Urban Series demonstrates the fusion of human architecture and Wildlife. It is one of my ways to showcase the problem of loss of habitats for the many species in the world, caused by deforestation and human expansion. Images like these seem surreal, but it has already happened that some wild animal escaped from a zoo causing panic in ordinary citizens, even if not in quiet Bolzano. Some important urban centers of India, on the other hand, have to deal daily with the invasion of leopards who take advantage of cohabiting with people, looking for food at night while we sleep: one of the side effects of human expansion that turns against us.
I had painted this piece on commission , I am willing to paint similar artworks again. Please send me your request on the Contact page.
