Intaglio Prints

The Intaglio Prints are graphic works in which the image is cut, scratched, or etched into a zinc plate. The incised line or sunken area holds the ink during the printing process. To print an intaglio plate, the inks are rubbed into the recessed lines and the surface is wiped clean. The dampened paper squeezed into the plate’s ink-filled grooves with uniform very high pressure of a professional printing press. Once the paper and the plate have passed through the press, the result is revealed. The printing stages repeat for each copy needed. I do very limited print editions, all executed by me individually from the preparatory drawing to the final print.
