The Gelert Lakesbury 5 Tent Pole Repair Pack consists of 3 x 13mm black fibreglass pole sections all fitted with a metal joining/end ferrule, a pole threader which is a steel wire with a sharp hook on one end, used to re-thread pole elastic and 1 length of elastic which measures 4 metres and will stretch to 7 metres approximately.Usage:åÊIdeal as an emergency repair kit or to replace broken sections within a pole run. Replacement fibreglass pole sections are supplied at a length of 68.5cm (including ferrule) so you may need to cut them to size with a junior hacksaw.
How to use:
Disassemble the current pole assembly as follows:
- Hook the elastic holding pole sections at the end nearest the broken section and pull out so knot can be undone (or if necessary cut off).
- Release the elastic and pull back through pole sections to the broken section taking care to keep the pole sections in the correct order.
- Remove damaged section.
Reassemble poles as follows:
- Replace broken section with new section.
- Using a length of wire fixed to the end of the elastic (e.g. using tape) feed the elastic through all the poles in the correct order and re-knot at end.

Held up well first season in rain and snow, compartments a little shallow

Overall these are a good product. The fit was good on my 2014 Honda Rancher AT, and they stay put when riding. I have left it out in rain and snow, and the contents stay dry so far. They seem pretty durable, but a few seasons exposed to sun and hot/cold will show for sure.
The detachable "purse" pouch is kind of cheesy. Not sure I would ever need that feature. THe other pockets are fine for keeping things separated and out of the elements. I think if you put heavy metal items like a hammer and nails in there it would wear through it. But good for everyday stuff like gloves and keys and cell phones and water bottles.
The other thing that seemed a little off was the depth of the pockets. When new the zipper openings are hard to spread apart, and inside you can't put anything very bulky unless it compresses easy like a fleece coat or gloves. So you would still need a rack bag for bulkier items.
For me it does the job of keeping odds and ends accessible and not left on the trail someplace.

Decent product!

Just put it on today. Put my phone and wallet in the top pockets. Took a ride up through the back of my property and didn't lose anything. Can't complain but time will tell. You guy's are lucky I didn't give you 1 star for the annoying reminders of a review before I used the product.
